In addition to the above exporters, HEPC also has put-up a Central Promotional Stall to promote the Indian Handwovens.

TITAS is the largest textile show in Taiwan . This fair has been an established annual business event for several years. TITAS is emerging as a stage for those who have the core competence of offering ever-innovative and competitive textiles. HEPC has felt that in the absence of Chinese suppliers in the Home Textiles segment, a new market for Indian Handlooms in the Home Textiles segment could be created among the Taiwanese consumers through its core competency and value additions.

Consequent on the participation in TITAS 2005 held from 29 th September to 1 st October 2005, HEPC had decided to explore Taiwan which has long been an integral part of the world's textile industry. Taiwan Textile Industry is now focusing on innovative textiles and developing new fibers, yarns and fabrics and introducing new products emerging from R&D in nanotechnology, in Bamboo Charcoal, in waterproofing and ventilation. HEPC had suggested the fair authorities to add the Home Textiles as a separate segment for TITAS 2006. Accordingly, they have included the Home Textile segment in their product profile, which was published for TITAS 2006. The fair authorities have also provided a link of HEPC in their Website for additional publicity of HEPC and Home Textile products in the 2006 edition.

As approved by the Ministry, the undersigned has coordinated the HEPC's participation in this event. I have met the Director General and Deputy Director General of India-Taipei Association at Taipei , which is the Indian Mission office in Taiwan , and discussed the possibilities of enhancing the Export of Indian Handwovens into Taiwan , and also sought their support in making our participation successful. Our Indian Mission in Taiwan, has informed that India's exports of textile related products to Taiwan in 2005 was US $80 million, registering sharp increase of 63%, compared with the previous year and the demand for Indian cotton and silk is at the growing trend and Indian products continue to occupy a significant share in the Taiwanese market. According to our Indian Embassy report, attention should be focused on Indian carpets and floor coverings. The Head of Indian Mission and his deputy have visited our stalls in the fair, and interacted with all our exporters and enlightened them about the importance and significance of Taiwanese market. They encouraged HEPC to bring in more exhibitors in future and suggested to organize road shows before participating in future events to give adequate publicity for our participation. Upon their efforts, a top procurement executive from a leading chain store of Taiwan has visited all our stalls and interacted with our exhibitors and made some purchase for their personal use also, which shows that they have been personally impressed with our range of products.

The feedback report received from the members participants revealed that out of 6 exporters, 3 exporters wanted to repeat their participation during 2007. Spot orders work Rs.92,000 was booked and Business enquiries worth Rs.2.94 crores were generated during the fair.
