Sub: Inviting application from members for participation in “Sourcing at MAGIC”, to be held at Las Vegas, USA, during 12-15 August, 2018


This is in continuation to Council’s general circular dated 09th February 2018, seeking expression of interest for Calendar of events during the year 2018-19.


1.0 About Sourcing at MAGIC Fair:

The Sourcing at MAGIC is the world largest Accessories Trade Show in North America. Magic connects 70% of buying and selling community in USA. The event has the participation of around 3500 exhibitiors and more than 35000 attendees. Sourcing at MAGIC is dedicated to contract manufacturing and private label business. The event is destination for product development groups to find new trends, new niches and fashions “value added” and “commodity” vendors in one efficient, focused location during the largest apparel market week in the world. It provides a convenient space for retail buyers, global importers, licensees and brands to meet and conduct business with offshore manufacturers. The event had 150+ Indian exhibitors during last edition.

2.0 Participation fee details:

In this regard, we hereby inform that Council’s proposal is still under process in the Ministry and the approval is awaited. In the meantime, it has been decided to collect a lumpsum amount of Rs.2,92,500/- (9 sq.m.) and Rs.4,38,000/- (12 sq.m.) and an undertaking form in company letter head (format enclosed) from each participant and allot spaceThe difference in amount will be reimbursed / collected from each participant based on receipt of approval or otherwise from Ministry.

In case of approval from Ministry, subsidized participation fee will be considered and the balance fee will be reimbursed / collected.

2.1 Application and Payment details:

Interested member exporters of handloom products may send their total participation fee for the required space along with application (application downloadable from https://www.hepcindia.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Application-FORM-International-2018-19-.pdf) to the council on or before last date of receipt of application as stipulated in the circular.

Payment has to be made through any one of the following mode of payment.

Option-1: Online payment through payment gateway

Option-2: Payment through RTGS

Option-3: Payment through Demand Draft/at par multicity cheque in favour of Handloom Export Promotion Council payable at Chennai, if online/RTGS payment is not feasible.

Amount once paid will not be refunded under any circumstance except cancellation of fair participation by HEPC.

3.0 Grant Eligibility:

HEPC has proposed participation in this fair under National Handloom Development Programme of Office of the Development Commissioner (Handlooms).

  • Member participants are entitled for participation under subsidised category availing grant only upto a maximum of three participations in a particular trade fair.


  • Participants with annual export turnover of less than Rs.30 crore in the preceding financial year (2017-18) will be eligible for subsidized participation charges.
  • Each participant company (for one person) will also be eligible for Travel grant reimbursement of Rs.50,000/- (Economy class) or actual travel cost, whichever is less subject to approval from Ministry.
  • Subsidized Participation in only one event in a calendar month is allowed and a maximum of 3 events in a year.

3.1 Selection Criteria:

Application received without payment will be invalid.

Preference will be given to registered holders of India Handloom Brand & first time participant of handloom products so that there will be at least a minimum of 30% IHB / first time member exhibitors in the event provided their applications along with required payment are received on or before the last date of receipt of application as stipulated in the circular.

Priority will be given to those who have already submitted their expression of interest along with advance payment provided their applications along with necessary balance payment as specified in this circular reaches the Council on or before the last date of receipt of application as mentioned below.
