Indian Handicrafts and Gifts Fair (Spring) ' 07,
held between 22 nd – 26 th February 2007
at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida
The 23 rd Edition of Indian Handicrafts and Gifts Show (Spring) 2007 was held during 22 nd to 26 th February 2007 at India Expo Mart & Centre, Greater Nodia. During the five-day exhibition 2000 leading manufacturers, producers and exporters have displayed vide range of Handicrafts and Textiles including Home Furnishings, made-ups such as bedspreads, cushion covers, bed linen, table linen, decorative table cloths, durries, duvets and quilts, patchwork, curtains, throws etc.
HEPC was allotted 487 Sqm of space to accommodate member exporters. 30 members were accommodated in 487 Sqm of space in Block 7-B & 8-B of 2 nd phase (1 st floor), Mart Area. As the location was not advantageous, buyer's turnout was very thin.

Council had engaged the services of students of NIFT, New Delhi to help our member exporters to display their products in a professional way. There was a total of 474 Foreign Buyers, 171 Buying Agents and 425 Business visitors from Germany, Italy, Spain, Japan, Korea, Denmark, Portugal, Belgium, Poland, Greece, South Africa, Brazil, Malaysia, U.K., Australia, France, USA, Sweden & Argentina to our 30 member exporters' stalls. It has been ascertained from our member participants that spot orders worth of Rs.2.32 Crores and sample enquiries worth of Rs.6.99 crores have been generated during the five days of fair.
Shri.G. Mathi Vathanan, IAS Executive Director of the council visited the fair and interacted with member exporters. Shri. R. P. Rajalingam, Superintendent, Regional Office, New Delhi co-ordinated the event. Overall response was not up to the expectations of our participants. Our member participants want to continue their participation in future also, as they are not willing to miss their regular buyers visiting this fair. |
