INDIAN HANDICRAFTS AND GIFT SHOW (AUTUMN) 2006
(13.10.06 to 17.10.06)

The 22 nd Edition of Indian Handicrafts and Gifts Show (Autumn) 2006 was inaugurated on 13.10.16 by Shri Ashok Pradhan, Hon'ble Member of Parliament. The occasion was graced by Mr.Sanjay Aggarwal, Development Commissioner for Handicrafts, Mr.Ajay Chauhan, District Magistrate, Mr.RKS Rathore, SSP, Gautambudh Nagar among other dignitaries. The traditional lamp lighting and ribbon cutting ceremony was followed by release of IHGF Autumn Fair Directory and Creative+ Design India Directory, dedicated to the North Eastern Region Theme Pavilion. During this fair a Theme Pavilion of North Eastern Region was also set-up. In the five days long exhibition 1800 leading manufacturers, producers and exporters have displayed vide range of Handicrafts and Home Textile products of Furnishings bedspreads, cushion covers, bed linen, table linen, decorative table cloths, durries, duvets and quilts, patchwork, curtains, throws etc.

The Hon'ble Union Minister of Textiles, Secretary Textiles and Hon'ble Chief Minister, National Capital Territory of Delhi are among many dignitaries who visited the fair and appreciated displayed products of the participants.

EPCH had allotted HEPC 269.5 Sqm of space to accommodate our member exporters at the very last moment after a continuous persuasion. As usual we have got space in a disadvantageous location that too in the phase-II, 2 nd Floor of Mart Area and not in the Exhibition Halls. The Council has obtained consent of all the participants in writing clearly informing them the location of stalls. The following 16 members had been accommodated in 269.5 Sqm of space in Block 8-C & 9-C. As the location was not advantageous, buyer's turnout was not up to expectations.
