HEIMTEXTIL FAIR, FRANKFURT, GERMANY, 10th to 13th JANUARY 2007

Heimtextil fair 2007 - the international trade fair for home and commercially-used textiles was organized from 10 to 13 January 2007, at Frankfurt, Germany.

HEPC has participated in this fair with 14 member exporters by taking 276 sq. mtrs. of space. 8 stalls have been allotted in Hall No.10.0 and 6 stalls have been allotted in Hall No.6.3. The undersigned has attended and coordinated HEPC's participation in this fair. HEPC had also set-up a Business Lounge –cum- Central Promotional Stall in Hall No.10.0 to facilitate the Business Meeting of member exhibitors and to promote Indian Handwovens.

For the first time, HEPC has planned and executed a large-scale publicity during Heimtextil 2007 under Publicity Head of MDA scheme. Council has hired 4 - Trigos (3 sided advertising pillars), 1 - Oktavo (8 mtr. height big advertising pillar), 1 - Big banner (big advertisement banner in one of the main entrances) and 1 - Optimo (Brochure service at Via mobile west). HEPC has brought out a special brochure containing the profiles of our member participants in the Optimo Exhibitor Brochure service at via mobile West near Hall No. 8. The Council had also released a full-page colour advertisement in the Home Fashion magazine, nearly 10,000 copies of which were distributed free of cost during the fair.

The Consul General of India along with his Senior Officials visited HEPC stalls and interacted with our exporters. The embassy officials were apprised on the publicity measures made by the Council, which was well appreciated. A high-level delegation lead by the Hon'ble Minister of Textiles, Shri Shankersingh Vaghela, visited the fair.

The 14 participants' stalls attracted buyers from Italy, Venezuela, Spain, Austria, China, Greece, Australia, Uruguay, Israel, U.S.A., Finland, France, Argentina, Mexico, Malta, Croatia, Czech Republic, Chile, Canada, Turkey, Poland, Lebanon and other European countries. The overall impression of our participants is that the turnout and the quality of the buyers were good. The stalls of the member participants attracted 525 visitors and spot orders worth Rs.1.86 crores was made, and enquires worth Rs.9.99 crores were generated.
