To become an exporter the basic requirement
is to obtain Import - Export License and to register as
a member with any one of the Councils under the Ministry
of Textiles. Once an exporter has this license he is eligible
to export.

Manufacturing exporter is one who
manufactures the product and exports.

one who buys products from a manufacturer and exports.
An exporter can either export directly or through
buying agents.

through buying agents :
An exporter who is new and inexperienced
in the market would do better by working through buying
agents who represent importers. These buying agents
are spread in important centers namely, New Delhi and Mumbai.

exporter need not necessarily be a member of the Council,
in which case he will not be able to avail the benefits
that are extended to the members by the Council and the
